Default A plant below the substrate

This plant seems oblivious to the fact that it is growing BELOW the

Wild! Nice photos, BTW. Is that bamboo
above the substrate on the second photo? Is
it possible that same kind of plant is growing
in the substrate? Have you thought about
moving some of the substrate aside to see
what happens to the plant? Interesting stuff!
