EPSOM Salt cause algae explosion?

I dumped a teaspoonful of EPSOM Salt to add some boost to my planst as
suggested by some in the group. Suddenly I see brown algae on my front
glass. But I was still wondering if adding sulphate to a 7pH, 3 dH,
2watt/gallon, 15-gallon tank is the reason ....
