Default Exactly how much KNO3 to add to tank?

My tank (38 g) is moderately planted and has quite a few fish, but my
nitrates never get higher than 5 ppm. I change out 30% of the water
weekly.

Should I add exogenous nitrates in the form of KNO3? Exactly how do
you dose this?

Thanks,
