Hi, Im looking for a new plant to fill in a gap!
Preferably one with colour, and nice shape. A mid ground one, more squat and
wide. To be the sort of focal point.
Any ideas?

I've got some really nice red-spot ozelot swords. They're not quite as tall
as some other swords (about 16" tall by 16" wide)) and they have spectacular
colouration. If you want something smaller, a dense clump of the red
variety of cryptocoryne wendtii is always impressive.

If the light level isn't too high, an anubias coffeefolia.

Swords can work, but for me, they always get too darn big and end up
needing to be pulled out.

Yeah, I know what you mean, and I've had the same experience with dozens of
Echindoruses (echondorii?) over the years. But you owe it to yourself to
try a red-spot ozelot - they're much more compact and truly stunning. My
biggest takes up about a quarter of a 75-gallon and is well worth the space.
