Hi,

I have a 35G freshwater community aquarium with quite a lot of plants in it.
It currently is receiving 1.15 watts of light per gallon (40W total). I'd
really like to add co2 to my setup but am unsure if it would even be worth
it at such a low light level. Even if it were to only help minimally I would
still consider it.

By all means I have CO2 in tanks ranging from 0.75 to 1.5 watts/gallon. It
make a big difference to the plants.

I built a DIY CO2 pump, and the change in plant growth was REMARKABLE. I
have a 20w bulb on a 37g tank, supplemented by sunlight.

If you're going to build your own CO2 factory, make sure you follow "the
recipe." I didn't, and had to keep draining off alcohol & recharging with
water & yeast to use up all the sugar. I didn't realize that the alcohol
would eventually poison the yeast.
