Light Question
I purchased an expensive bulb (fluorescent) about 3 months ago. It
cost about $25 and has a foil strip on the back for added directional light - I guess. Anyway, just bought a second bulb (2 bulb system) and it looks a lot "whiter" when looking at it. Almost makes the first purchased bulb look a little brownish or "off white". Does this mean the first bulb might be bad or need replaced already. Seems like I've only had it a little while for the money. Thx for the help. |

It's probably just fine. Aquarium bulbs vary in color from white to blue to yellow and beyond depending on the spectrum they provide. I tend to stay away from the yellow ones simply because I don't like the way they make the tank look, and my plants are doing fine enough for me. Most bulbs should last from 6 months to a year depending on how particular you are about light quality. Others who know more about lighting can give more detailed info. hth billy |

No. Different lights give off different spectrums of light (colors) Some a
bluish, some white, some yellow. Bob "Bill Beam" wrote in message ... I purchased an expensive bulb (fluorescent) about 3 months ago.
