Are you sure. The reason I'm asking that I can get a free Cylinder with
valve and everything from my grand father. Are you sure that it won't
work?

The valve will be different & so you would not be able to fit a cO2
regulator to it. Very sensibly every gas uses a different design/size of
valve/regulator fitting on it to avoid mixing your gas bottles up!

You should first understand what they have different tanks for different
gases. Even Tank color is different for different gases to make sure that
during refilling the operators will not make any mistake.

OK.. even if you take your O2 tank for refilling CO2, I bet the shop will
not refill CO2.

They may take it as trade, though. worth a try.

Uhh JR--Won't work because???? In a word--share
your knowledge and give a full answer (you're not being
charged by the word, right).

Thanks.

Yes, but you will have to get the valve changed. IIRC, O2 cylinders are
rated 2200 pounds, and CO2 cylinders are rated 1800 pounds. Then you'll
probably have to get your tank filled rather than swapping it out, and you
will have to pay to get it tested every 5 or 10 years. If you buy a 20# or
smaller CO2 tank, you can swap it out whenever it needs filling and you'll
never have to pay for hydrostatic testing.

Ding, ding, ding! Good answer.
I think that's what I would try to do.
