Default Anacharis Question

Hi All . . .

I've got a quick question I'm hoping to get some help with.

About a month ago, I purchased some Anacharis. It's doing fine in my tank,
so well that it's growing like a weed. I weekly have to trim the plants and
make new bunches.

What I'm wondering about is: On some of the plants, I'm noticing "root" like
strings sprouting from the middle of the stalks right about where new growth
has taken place. I'm thinking these are the "roots" of the new growth, but
I'm not sure. Are these "roots" from the new growth? And when I trim the
plants (if these are indeed roots) should I then trim below these roots?
(I'm guessing I should, but thought I'd ask first).

Many Thanks in Advance,
