Another Driftwood Question--Brown Water

My tank contains several quite large pieces of driftwood found on the beach.
They were soaked in bleach solution for a couple weeks, and then in water
for a month or more, then left in the open air for about six months. (All
this was done before I bought my tank--I wouldn't have the patience to wait
that long otherwise.) They have now been in the tank for at least 3 months,
but still the water goes brown after a couple days. All tests remain
within acceptable paramaters, so there is no problem, except the colouring
of the water.

Will it go away, or is this something to be lived with forever?

It will go away, probably in a few weeks, if not sooner. A little carbon in
your filter will speed things up.

However, a lot of people actually like that "black water" look.
