Default Flourite question

Hi, I have a 160L and am preparing to a 900L new tank. I am currently
using ADA's amazonia as substrate (for 3 years now, and its still
going quite well), but since ADA's aqua soil alter water chemistry in
a very large degree, especially when new, I would like to try
something else. Flourite comes into mind, but I like to hear from you
guys that whether Flourite alter water chemistry in ANY WAY? KH, GH?

Thanks

I recently changed over to flourite. I have yet to see an effect on PH or
GH. I don't track KH, so I can't comment on that. It's only been two weeks
though.

I haven't seen any effect on the plants yet. However, it looks a hell of a
lot better than that other CR@@ I had in the tank.

Strangely enough, my whiptail catfish seem to like it much better. I think
the darker color makes them more comfortable, but that's just a guess.

I've used it for 2.5 years, never had a change of any chemistry.... had
great plant growth though....

Thanks for you guys reply. Sounds perfect substrate for me. Now the
only thing concern me is that Flourite actually much more than ADA's
Aqua Soil in Hong Kong, and filling up a 200 gal is no joke... And the
worst thing is that only a few shops keep Flourite, which left me no
place for bargain. But if its really that good, I guess I would just
go for it!

Thanks
Kenneth

It's not cheap here either, nearly $30 a bag, and it took 4 for my 55g, so
you're in for atleast 6-8 depending on tank print..

Try this place, Big Al's online. They have it for $11 US a bag. I dont know
how much shipping would be or even if they would ship to Hong Kong, but if
you need a bunch of it it might work out to be cheaper.

Heres the link:
