Default Need Tech Help

Hey All,

How come I can post a new message to the group, but cannot answer
one--either to the group, or the individual? Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Lowcoaster

Answering one is just like sending a new message. On my Outlook 2002 email
software, I have "new post" and "reply group" buttons.

Check out your SMTP server, it's the outbound address needed for replys to
reach your USENET server, it may look like news.rr.com or smtp.rr.com or
something similar

Those buttons are optional/customizable- maybe someone has been playing with
the toolbar settings?

**** Post for FREE via your newsreader at post.usenet.com ****

How does the software "stop" you from doing so? By displaying an error
message or you can't find the buttons or something else?

Cheers
Kenneth

The SMTP server is used for outbound email, not news posts. You probably
meant check the NNTP server address, but if that were incorrect he wouldn't
be able to read news either.

In all probability, he's using reply by mail, rather than reply group.

Graham.
