Default color of leaves affected by available light?

Hi all,

I recently bought a plant with long stem and small round leaves attached to
the stems from the bottom of the stem to the top. I'm sorry I don't have the
name of the plant, but can provide pictures of it if that is desired to
determine the answer to my question.

This plant had all green leaves when I first bought it. Now I notice all the
new leaves forming at the top of the stem has a reddish taint. Would this
mean the plant is getting too much light, too little light, missing some
minerals, or are happy as Larry with the position and lights in my fish
tank?

Its either change of conditions (light, water chemistry... etc) caused it,
or most probably the plant was grown emerged and now its turning into its
submerged form.

Cheers
Kenneth
