Default how does water current affect plants?

Hi. I thought I'd pose an interesting question: How does water current
affect plants and growth/growth habits? Plants with sturdy stems like
ludwigia, java, anubia, hygro, and alternantha or more frail plants like
rotala and cabomba? Would constant current pushing them down or moving them
constantly affect them adversely?

Thanx for any input,

Dave.

For lack of Cabomba (it's illegal in my state)..... I've found that
limnophila tends to grow horizontally along the bottom of the tank if
subjected to heavy current, but this is just one of my tanks. I
generally recommend modifying spray-bars/output devices so as to
minimize heavy current, especially in heavily-planted tanks. While
some water circulation is good, too much can kill or retard the growth
of most plants, even the sturdier ones.
