DIY project Ideas needed

I have a bunch of rigid acrylic Tube in diameters up to 3" ID, and as small
as 1/8" ID. All of it is over 6 feet long, is there anything I can make out
of it? Maybe some kind of fluidized bed filter? Preferably i would like it
to be useful to my planted tank.
Thanx,

How about a fish raceway? A tube (filled with water) which comes up out
of the tank and then back in (or into another tank). Depending on the
amount of pipes and your ability to weld them together, you could have
your fish tour your room along the walls or along the ceiling ;~).

It's already been done before, however if going from tank to tank, they
should be at the same water surface height ;~).

Interesting project, but wouldn't a long raceway cool the water
considerably? Keeping the room at 78 would be one way. How would one
prime a 6 foot, 3* tube?

Please let us know what you finally do with this project.

I dont think a raceway is something I am gonna try, as intersting as it
sounds. I was hoping to create something useful, as much as it would be
cool.

I had convict cichlids years ago and stacked pieces of slate from the gravel
to the water line. The fish loved to settle into the various cracks in the
slate like a fish hotel. Maybe you could cut 3" sections of various
diameter tubes and epoxy them all together in a stack to provide a similar
effect. The back of the stack would be up against the back wall of the
tank. You could paint them brown maybe or let algae/java moss grow up and
around it for camo. You'd need fish that would make use of such a thing,
though.

just a thought,
