What to do with anubius overgrowth?
Hi,
I have an anubius barteri (?) that I planted along a 10-inch driftwood about 3 years ago. Now the plant has grown the entire length of the driftwood, and is running out of rooting space (starting to reach towards the gravel). The older leaves have gone through some algae overgrowth/SAE clean-up cycles, and although healthy, not shiny like the new leaves (looks a little wan, or spotty depending on how badly it was algae-ridden before the SAE's decidd they're hungry enough to clean it up). the older end has few new baby leaves coming out also. what should I do? I'm running out of tank space so I really can't put another large drift wood... options I thought about: 1. leave it and let the plant grow into the gravel 2. take the plant off the driftwood, chop it in pieces and re-attach and start fresh 3. prune.. how??? 4. chop it in pieces, leave the original stub and do something with the newer section (sell it, replant it, etc) thanks for any info linda |
