Dreaming of the days when my Canna will be blooming and it's nice and hot
weither wise.

Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. Some believe that they may yet be
brothers of man, who even now fight to survive, somewhere beyond the

I NEVER grip about the heat, I live in the High Mojave Desert and I LOVE the
100F and higher temps we get in the summer. If I get to hot, I come into my
trailer that has a swap cooler and after a short spell I go back out and
that's a hell of a lot cheaper than the $100 I paid for Dec.'s heating bill.

Remember luv, I used to live there. :-)

And I agree about swamp coolers... but they don't work here in Texas due
to the high humidity....... Dry heat is not always a bad thing.

I remember the 110 degree temps there in Lancaster.

101 here feels hotter. :-(

I lived for a very VERY short time in that state, as a kid, my folks had
moved there suppostly for jobs, but the town of Pampa TX (craphole of
creation) had no real jobs for a man who had worked with Lyons Van Lines for
10 years and once the relation found out we where NOT jw's, they'd have
nothing to do with us. We where there about 3 months and when I showed my
mother the book that said man could never orbit the earth and we'd already
had John Glen do so, I stayed home from then on.

Dad got his tax refund, we rented a U-haul for a cross town move, load it up
and moved back to San Diego, by the next moroning and by that night had a
place to rent, unloaded the trailer and dad left it on the nearest uhaul lot
after hours.

I had not seen san diego before but the warm air was wonderfull! Day we left
pampa it was like -10F but the old 52 caddy drove us as fast as the long
haul trucks.

Tx, a good place to be far from. oh ya, it was 5F this am here.

Nice morning glory. :-)

As for Texas, West Texas sucks.

Where I am in the Hill Country, it's not so bad but further north is
better where there are Pine Forests.

Texas is such a huge state, you can get some real weather extremes.

California is a beautiful place to live, or would be if the COST was not
so high.

sigh

What would you pay there for a 1,400 square ft. 3 bedroom 1 bath house
on 2.2 acres? Here it's valued at $70,000 and my annual property tax is
$1,600.

I've not looked at land prices a lot, I did notice one time a place near
mojave itself, 20ac's horse area, out buildings, waterwell, 4bedroom house.
they wanted $300,000 for it.

But as I live in a trailer park and now own my trailer and have the useage
of the desert land next door that the trailer park owns, I'm doing just fine
and my trailer was $3,000 and I pay $48.00 in tax.

We have Jehova witless around here too.

I just don't let them in the house anymore. I used to enjoy leading them
on and letting them tie themselves into knots by asking lots of deep
questions on bible interpretation, (I'm agnostic leaning towards the
"old" religion"), and am reasonably well versed. I've read a lot of
Joseph Campbell.

But, I've not really had much time for them lately. At least most Mormon
missionaries are better trained in theology.

Ok, I'll bite...

Why does the flag drive them away?

Maybe that's why I'd not had any in a long while.

I put up a new flag pole the week after 9-11.

The JW's will NOT sulit any nations flag or say a plege to it. As such the
word around the local ones is that they are forbidden to come into my space
with the flag flying or I'll use my swords on them. ;

When I went into the army, at the swearing in room, they had a big 6ft tall
banner across the back of the room, " JW's EXIT THIS ROOM NOW " and the door
when into the back ally way where all the trash cans where kept. They are
outlawed in some nations, Germany being one of them.

Usually but not always ones relatives are of the same religion.
Sometimes family members have nothing to do with other family members.
So what?
