The Bay is blooming now, maybe I'll get fruit out of it this year, I
didn't last year. I was told it wouldn't last if planted outside, that
was 5 years ago, if you have a sheltered spot you might try a bay
outdoors. I'm in Tennessee and have to run, the cats have just brought a
large bee into the house.

That's a beautiful picture of the flowers and leaves.

The fruits are small and hard but pedunculate - looking forward to your
pictures of them.

I have another 5' Bay in the yard, so it might not flower for 3-5
more years, I was told by Herb Companion magazine that there should not
be another Bay closer than the Gulf Coast so I'm not likely to get
another pollinator till my other one grows up. I would love to be proved
wrong.
By the by, the bumble bee has been released into the wild after
gitting caught between panes of a glass window, it was making a large
amount of noise next to the Mac.

Where did you buy this? I have looked on Google and only found one dealer. I
am in NJ.

Bay Laurel is also known as Sweet Bay and most garden shops have them
in the herb section. There are other types of Laurel but they are not
edible ( toxic in sone cases ) so be sure of your dealer. You could grow
it in NJ as a potted plant that you overwinter indoors, Bay is only
supposed to be hardy to 20 degrees but mine has survived nights down to
5 degrees.
