Tha'ts pretty, reminded me of a ladyslipper at first sight. The ones
we used to find in the woods in Virginia, years ago.

Thanks JV, I can only imagine finding orchids in the woods. In my next life
that's what I want to do but in the jungles.
Cheers Wendy

That must be a cross with one of the famous "Wyld Court" Lycaste orchids.
That was an Orchid nursery out towards Newbury, Berkshire in the UK that
specialised in that genus. It was an amazing old place full of unusual
species run by a gardener called Eddie who had a beautiful male Birman cat
that used to spend the winter in the big greenhouse near the hot water
heating pipes. Thank's for bringing it all back to me, happy days! :-)

For those across the pond it's pronounced Bark-sure not berk-shire. :-)

Yes Bob you are correct, my mentor was telling me about the Wyld name too,
after I told
him what I had purchased. I used to have Lycaste Wyld Surprise & thought it
was a spelling mistake.
Thanks,
Cheers Wendy.
