Lablab purpureus - HyacinthBeanBloom.jpg (1/1)
I've often wondered why I don't see this gorgeous vine planted
everywhere. It grows fast, has beautiful bicolored foliage, and produces lots of lovely scented flower spikes followed by big purple pods filled with attractive seeds. I give mine an early start indoors under lights, and have noticed that the leaves of the young vines emit an incredible fragrance, rather subtle but even more delicious than the flowers. ----------------- www.Newsgroup-Binaries.com - *Completion*Retention*Speed* Access your favorite newsgroups from home or on the road ----------------- |

Lucky you that you did so well with this plant. I tried it a few years ago outdoors, planted it like a normal bean in the spring (started in greenhouse, planted outdoors). It sprouted and grew, but then died a death. I don't know what went wrong. Maybe our summers at that time were too cold and wet. But like I said, lucky you! s. |

The bean doesn't like it too cool, but appreciates lots of water when its hot. It also resents excess wind, requires a trellis and sometimes needs a little training. ----------------- www.Newsgroup-Binaries.com - *Completion*Retention*Speed* Access your favorite newsgroups from home or on the road ----------------- |
