I am, compared to many of you, the worst photographer in the world G
Every once in awhile I get lucky. Morning Glories are so hard to
photograph, but I think this one catches the blue just right.

Good job! :-)
And the background and surroundings set if off nicely with the red and
green...

Exceptional clarity in the blue.
What is the red flower plant and the variegated foliage plant?
I've seen the red flowers before but my memory cell is not working today.

Thank you, I was thrilled when I checked it on the computer.

Oh, you would ask G The variegated one is Australian Mint Bush,
Proslanthera rotundifolia (I kept the tag on this one as I'd never
grown it before, it's a great container plant), but I can't for the
life of me remember what the red one is, and I grow it every year for
the hummingbirds. Only thing I remember is I think it begins with a
'D'.

Ann,
Could the red plant be some type of Honeysuckle?
Nice photo.
Cheers Wendy

After extensive research I have discovered what the red flower is not.
Perhaps Bouvardia ternifolia is close but the foliage varies amongst the
Google Images.
I also considered Zauscheria, Hamelia patens, Manettia and some Salvias.
Is your plant hardy in 6a or do you take it in for the winter?
Does it climb as a vine or are we looking at an upright growing plant?
What I grew was about 30 inches tall in zone 7a, heat zone 8.
There is a slight possibility it may still be in my garden amongst the
weeds. I will check in the morning.

Or more likely Dicliptera suberecta.
You did say it begins with a D...
Check the Google Images on this one.
What do you think?
Have we solved the mystery plant?

Ann,
Could the red plant be some type of Honeysuckle?

No, it's a tender perennial I grow up here in pots every season, but
I'm blanking on the name.

Nice photo.

Thanx!

Do I see a passion fruit vine there as well?

No, no passion fruit. Nonews nailed the id of the mystery plant, it's
Dicliptera suberecta.
