Didn't grow this one, but got a specimen for next year's garden.

Can I ask where they were in Niagara Falls, Ont? Is that where you got a
speciman? I wouldn't mind making a run over there to get one of those for
myself. cough If they're for sale, I mean. 0

These orange ones with the striped leaves were in the main park area by
the Falls, between the Centre and the People-Mover stop.

There were also some at the Brock Memorial. We happened to be there when
the gardeners were replacing them with fall 'mums. We asked nicely, and
were given one. It's hibernating in our basement. A lot of plant
material is thrown out rather than kept, as there is limited space for
storing it.

I expect that these cannas are now removed, too, but if they are in
process, and the gardeners seem co-operative, just don't tell them I
sent you. ;-)

Oh, I'm sure they're gone. I was hoping you saw them in front of a
nursery or some other similar spot. Nice idea to ask for one. Next year
I'll have to beat you to the bunch and start lurking around the parks in
September.
