Now I wonder if that will grow and flower here? Quite a few Eucalypts do.

Actually I've misnamed it, apparently they've changed the name to 'Corymbia
ficifolia'.

They're a pretty hardy tree.


I've been told (by someone that knows Corymbia ficifolia, it's new old name)
that it is grown down in Cornwall and Tresco but is not too keen on frost
which we have had here down to -4°C over recent weeks. They also said it
would be difficult to find in the UK as a grafted tree, with the flower
colour being a certainty, and that whilst seeds are available it often does
not come true from seed with off white flowers a possibility. He did mention
that there are Red and also Orange flowered varieties of this plant too.
Still might try some from seed though.
