No, we have a Pinus aristata in our garden.
I think it is a plant often used as low hedging that has been allowed to
grow unchecked but can't remember the name.

Interesting...I was thinking how much the branches and bark resemble those
of my large Lonicera tatarica shrubs. So if it is a Lonicera of some sort
it wouldn't surprise me.

Pat, I hope you don't mind but I've asked on a UK gardening Newsgroup for
you and copied your poho to my flickr page so they can see it, that Ng being
non-binary.
Some knowledgeable nurserymen (or wives) on there so you should get an
answer.

Pat. comments so far include....
Lonicera sp. possibly L. pileata
Cassia sp.
Jasminum sp.
Baeckia sp.
Whatever it is it's been pruned strangely, pollarded almost, which does not
help the ID.
I'll keep you posted if someone comes up with a definitive answer. Maddening
isn't it.
Could you photo any flowers IDC?

Hi Bob. Thanks for the legwork so far.

I have never seen a flower on this thing in 11 years.

I should add one thing: The color of the leaves and even the woodie part of
the tree appear to be darker with more saturated green color than normal in
dry weather. It was raining when I made the shot.
