peony #1
http://members.aon.at/supervague/ivi...ia_010_1-5.jpg
This is my very first home-grown peony flower. The seed was taken from a 'Duchesse de Nemours' in 2006. It sprouted in 2008. I got about 120 plants of which less then 30 survived the first repotting. The seedlings are very fragile and break at the slightest touch. In 2010 I planted them outside. 15 are left. 2 had flowers already, one will have (maybe). This was the first flower. 2 flowers of the other plant are now open and look very much the same. http://members.aon.at/supervague/ivi...n_20100507.jpg [260 KB] This is a montage of photos I made last year as they were planted. The plant at the very right is flowering now. The fourth from the right has a small bud (Maybe a filled variety that won't evolve fully already this year). And if you imagined another row of 5 peonies below, the actual pic would be taken also of the very right plant of those. G Willi |
