We only have tank water at our new place and the outlet for the first flush
for the tanks and also the drainage pipe for the back yard looked quite
ugly, so I turned the area into a bog garden, planted reeds, Louisiana iris
and ferns, placed a few rocks around and totally disguised the outlet pipes,
plus added a pot containing a yellow waterlily and some water poppies.
So far I am quite happy with the outcome.

Won't you have a problem with it being too dry in the hot season?

Not really as we get a lot of rain in the summer, our winters are dry, but I
also have a large dam and can (and mostly do) pump water out of it to water
my gardens.

Looks good. Will it attract some wildlife you wouldn't otherwise see in
your garden?

Perhaps a few frogs, we already have plenty of them, plus wallabies,
goannas, bandicoots, water dragons and a platypus has been seen in our dam
on two occasions (but not by me) and so far I've identified and logged 38
species of birds.

It will be fun for me watching your new garden evolve.

Seeing the group is pretty quiet at the moment, I will post a few photos of
our endeavours thus far.

I've not seen it, my husband has seen it twice and once when showing my aunt
and uncle the property, my aunt took photos, she lives interstate and
promised to send me the photos once she returned home, but has not yet sent
them to me.
Believe me if I see it (they are extremely shy) and get some photos,
everyone will know about it. :-)
