The photo was taken in autumn. Wasp spiders are seen here (Austria)
since 2001. I found the first in my garden in 2001, and also the
newspapers reported first sights the same year.

Wonderful shot. New to me but there are so many things I have yet to
see. I guess I will not live to see it all, but what I do see is just
great.

Thanks. I'm glad you like it.

Pretty sure this is the spider that was fairly common on Topsail
Island, North Carolina ... I once walked right into a web that
was across the pathway to the beach ... bushes on each side
of the path to the stairs to the beach so the spider was able to
spin his web across the path ... stupid of me, as they are quite
easily spotted w/ the black& yellow stripes ...

Also, the web is easy to spot, as there are white zigzag
lines (don't know what else to call them) which are very
easy to spot ...

Yes, the pattern is very noticeable. The bigger was the surprise when I
saw the first one. Their appearance here is seen as a sign of global
warming.
