Weed of the week: Mind-your-own-business (Soleirolia soleirolii)
Furtively intruding under my mother's garden fence is a very small weed
from Corsica, home of the Emperor Napoleon. Every time she banishes it, it comes sneaking back. It's so small you might not notice it at first but it'll keep on spreading until you're forced to make war on it. It can grow a new plant from any broken bit, so if you dig it out you need to destroy every scrap. If it gets into your lawn it'll conquer the grass. It's resistant to all lawn weedkillers but not to a chef's blowtorch.
