Weed of the week: Pearlwort (Sagina procumbens)

Pearlwort is a very small weed. In my picture it's growing among moss
between paving stones; if you're standing up the moss looks like bright green velvet. Despite its size pearlwort's a serious nuisance in sports pitches, lawns, rockeries, paving and ecologically-sensitive islands. It resists weedkillers drought and grazing. You can find it all over the northern hemisphere and on eBay - don't buy it.
