Default binaries - OT

I used to post photos of my plants but now I can't see any
binaries (i.e. photos) of plants or anything because my ISP
has stopped allowing binaries.

In August they are getting rid of newsgroups altogether.

Can anyone recommend a usenet provider where you can see
alt.binaries?
Or a decent newsgroup that I can subscribe to?

Thanks for any help

someone

Probably not what you want to hear but I get here via BT, their news server
still takes binary Ngs.

Check out agent forte. If you can connect to the internet you can post
and get anything you want.

eternal-september.org is free and carries this group.
As far as I know, that's the only binary group it does carry.

Not exactly. The software can't connect to a news server if you haven't
subscribed to it. OP's ISP is ending its operation of a news server.

Forte also offers something they call "Agent Premium Usenet". When you
buy their newsreader you also get a trial account. I've not tried it
because I'm in love with Giganews but at USD 14.75/month for unlimited
access it looks like a good deal.

I use supernews at about 12 bucks a month. And it is really good.

True, and if I liked the Agent interface, I'd go for it. I've tried
Agent several times, too quirky for me. ;-)

Have a good day,

It is a great program, it just takes a little bit of practice to work
it. I have been using it for 12 years or more and find it the best.
Agant forte is not quirky IMHO.

Free Terra news, though there is a very small one off set up charge.
I haven't checked it out for years, but it used to carry all binary groups,
though could be a little flaky at times. Me, I use Giganews, it's worth the
monthly fee.
