Default Pruning fruit clusters

When my apple tree or pear tree have clusters of fruit, does removing the
smaller or damaged fruit allow the remaining fruit to grow bigger, faster,
better?

yes, but thinning earlier works better. Ingrid

After the June drop you thin the fruit to be a hand's breadth apart, Of
course you remove the ugly ones first.
