Growth on fig tree
My wife has just pointed out to me a growth that she thinks has been
there about a month. The ficus benjaminus is very healthy, green and full, but on the trunk there is a growth about the size, shape, and colour of a walnut. She is worried that it might be full of insects or worse yet, spiders! Any ideas? Thanks, Jim Zone 6, Niagara |

The Ficus benjamina is very healthy, green and full, but on the trunk there
is a growth about the size, shape, and colour of a walnut. It is some sort of gall. It is more likely to be caused by bacteria than insects. I would cut it off.
