Q. Where can I get evening primrose flower heads

I am a photographer in the uk trying to source some evening primrose
flower heads for a shot. I know they are not in season here.
I've seen some english primula in the hedgerows in Devon and wondered
if they look the same( just the flower heads)
I'm looking for a flower that visually looks similar to the evening
primrose flower if you are looking from the top. or the real thing.

Thanks

Dennis

Nope. Not remotely.

Evening primroses (oenethera) don't really look like any flower that blooms
at this time of year. They are much more open flowers than tulips, although
they are generally cup shaped like tulips. The individual flowers are bigger
than the English primroses you are seeing in hedgerows, and don't have the
bands of color inside - they are more uniform in shading, and only come in
yellow, pink and white varieties. I think you are out of luck until the real
things bloom starting in June.
