Question for Cereoid+ Prickly Pear

Hi Cereoid, guess you don't want the prickly pear, then? g Yes, it
is the common variety, but you are wrong about people not wanting it.
Perhaps they don't know it's so common?

I have a real question for you; is it possible that this cactus can be
divided? It does seem so, and will alleviate the problem of such a
large plant being transported by its unwitting new owners. Any
recommendations?

And yes, the dogs are quite stupid.

Thanks in advance - Callen

Question for Cereoid+ Prickly Pear

Almost all cactophiles have the common Opuntia humifusa except the newest of
beginners. Its so easy to propagate that it is constantly being given away.

Prickly pears can easily be multiplied by division.

Just take a sharp knife and cut where the joints (pads) are joined together.
Its best to have more than one pad on each cut section.

Wait until the end of the month when the plants come out of winter dormancy.

How in the heck did the dogs and your husband get tangled in it? The pads
lie flat on the ground and plant has very little height to it, especially
this time of year. Its as if they were going out of their way looking for
trouble.
