Default how to start a fig tree???

I just obtained some fig tree clippings. I think it is from a piddle
leaf fig tree? (fiddle leaf fig tree?)

How do I get these to take root? Soak in water or simply put in soil?
I have 3 clippings with large leaves. Currently 2 are in water and 1
in soil, in the hopes that I get it right!
