Hi all,

The other night here in upstate New York we received frost. It was suppose
to be in the Adirondacks only & it came down a little lower down to us. We
had some indoor house plants on the deck & they were hit by frost. Some
ferns & a jade plant were mostly hit. Will these plants come back. They are
all in the garage now where it's about 65 degrees. Any suggestion or
comments? Thanks.

theh jade should for sure. just bring it in and let it die back
naturally....it will look pretty ill for a while-grin. however, in hte
long run it will look better as the trunnks will be bigger than the new
shoots that will pop out all over.

this is of course if it did not completely freeze out which is
extrememly unlikely.

i have no idea on the fern as i dont know what type it is.

Usually 12 hours after the frost you'll know if they are ready for the
compost pile. Some plants are more sensitive than others. Some ferns
are hardy some are not, some are killed back to the soil and come back
again.

And, some plants that are hardy in the ground don't do well in pots.
