Will mixing grass clippings, shredded leaves and waste
vegetables and fruit produce good compost in a composter
without adding any soil which, i do not have,. Is soil
essential to the process ?

I found that adding soil and/or fertilizer did not help that much. The
ingredients you
mentioned should work fine. Just be sure to keep the pile moist, when possible.

The ingredients you mentioned should provide sufficient moisture. I'd
rather have a pile with too little moisture than too much.
