Do it yourself hydroseed

Does anyone have suggestions on hydroseeding a lawn by yourself. The
contractors in my area are too expensive. I am thinking about seeding
and fertilizing by hand, then spreading the mulch and watering. What
I don't know is what to use for the mulch or where to get it. Any
ideas?
