Default New garden and new gardener - Help with identifying plants

Hi,

I've recently moved into my first home which has a mature but very overgrown/unloved garden.

I know a little bit about gardening and I have identified a few of the plants, but the majority of them I am unsure about.

I have some pictures here ---- http://www.pbase.com/millea/garden ----

I would very much appreciate any help indentifying the plants, and what needs to be done with them to tidy them up...i.e the ivy needs a serious haircut!

Thankyou!
