Cider issue, maybe problem
 

Billy, charlie and other cider brewers.

Cider has been racked off for 1 week now, sitting out in the garage in 2-5 L
glass carbouys & flagons. Temps around 20-22 C during the day and down to
about 8-10 c @ night. Garage is uninsulated.

Anyhow, the odd bottle has a thin milky white film on the surface of the
cider. The cider is 2-3 inchs off the top of the neck (ie 2-3 inchs below
the rubber stopper).

Of concern?

If so, easily fixed?

In regular wine, this would be a disaster, but normal for sherry.
From what I read, it doesn't seem like a big deal in cider. Try googling
"white film on cider".

I did think if worst come to worst skimming it off or racking again and
adding 1 camden tablet per 5 litres.

And try to purge the O2 out of the ullage (N2, CO2, Ag). If you plan on
continuing to make cider, mead, or wine, you should learn the "Ripper"
procedure for checking SO2 levels (burette, pipette, iodine solution,
and starch solution).
