Default Lobelia

Googling to find info on how to control sprawling Lobelia,
ran into this must-share cultural note:

--------------------------

siphilitica
peren • ht 3' • zones 4-9

great blue lobelia

native, moist - wet, part shade - sun
e and cent US

A handsome species, bearing flowers which are
blue with a bit of white. Quite persistent once
established. Great blue lobelia seems to be a bit more tolerant of
dryish conditions than cardinal flower, but in other respects is much
like that plant.

********The species name for this plant refers to its use in
the past as a supposed cure for syphilis.**********
