Not just WalMart but Home Depot, Franks and most super markets. The tubers
are even sold as a vegetable in some stores. Very easy to get. Caladium

have
much more attractive foliage.

Wal mart does have elephant ear bulbs this year (or did anyway)

As others have said, most any place that sells packaged bulbs will have
elephant ears. Larger garden centers may have a choice of varieties and
sell them in bulk. You can buy the "tarot" roots in the produce section of
your supermarket and grown them. It is a little too cool to plant them here
in SW Ohio. They like to have warm soil temperatures to grow and if you
plant them when it is too cold, they could rot. I started with a single
elephant ear several years ago and now I have BOXES of them. They multiply
faster than I can give them away. Too bad you don't live in Cincinnati or I
would give you some. When you do plant them, keep in mind that they require
shade and will wilt and/or scorch if they are in the afternoon sun. They
also like a lot of water and a good application of high nitrogen fertalizer.

while I agree that caladiums have more colorful foliage, elephant ears
(not elephant ear caladiums which are smaller) are so big that they
really give a shady area some character. I get bulbs (and they don't
look like tubers, they are big, melon shaped bulbs like a coconut)
from www.michiganbulb.com.
http://www.dutchbulbs.com/spring/z31943.70307i.html have black
elephant ears, and I plant those and the green them the caladiums, and
it's spectacular (and in pots as well). I dig them out in the fall
and keep them dark and dry and they do well in PA.....

Wear a big floppy hat and you won't have a problem with your "elephant
ears"!

Obviously you haven't a clue between what the difference is between a true
bulb and a tuber is but that's your problem. You must not be able to
distinguish between an onion and a potato either. Coconuts are seeds not
melons or bulbs. You seriously need to brush up on your basic plant
terminology ASAP.

You have the nerve to post a link to those frauds "Michigan Bulbs". Shame on
you.
