She has a plant growing that has light-pink flowers on a very weak
stalk (has to tie them up to keep them off the ground.) The flowers
look a lot like hosta flowers, but the leaves are nothing like a
hosta. (Unfortunately, I don't remember what the leaves look like..

I
think long and lily like, but that may have been a different mystery
plant.) It's growing in an area that gets a lot of light. She's in
Missouri, if that helps. No absolute id's required... just some
general ideas so I can narrow down what I go look up would be

helpful.

Could be some Penstemon.

Hi, If you had been posting from the UK, then I'd be suggesting Schizostylis coccinea, commonly known as pink Kaffir lily but as your mom is in Missouri, then this may not be the one ? but from your description, its a possibilty ?
Regards, Lannerman,

It's a possibility that, even at the rate this group's going, after even
less than a month this thread's dead. It's an even BETTER possibility
that after Twelve Long Years, the plant itself is dead. Not to mention
the mother, who so long as she isn't, certainly might be a bit more
net-savvy by now.
