That's easy! Compromise: Minden NV, Prescott or Flagstaff AZ,
Provo UT, Santa Fe or Los Cruces NM, Pagosa Springs CO...
just a few among many places that offer the best of both!
(And are damn nice places to live, IMHO.)

Actually the enchanted circle northeast ot Taos, NM is an area we both
really liked. But we were there in July. I want to make a trip there
in the winter to see if I'm still as impressed. On my last walkabout
I spent some time roaming around Texas. Sure liked the area west of
Houston. So did the people living there. They must be mighty proud
of what they have considering the asking prices.

It wasn't high desert. Just beautiful rolling green low hills. I was
on I-10 On reflection I think I was in San Antonio. San Antonio is
closer to the Sierra Madres. Houston is close to the gulf coast
right?

information on the rain and the climate. However, I can tell you that
