Spider plant bugs?

Came out this morning and saw that my spider plants were chewed to pieces!
( I use them as a ground cover in some areas) and lots of frass on the
sidewalk next to them. Found no bugs, caterpillers. Snails and slugs
haven't bothered them before. Any suggestions? I live in SW Florida.

Possibly rats or squirrels gathering nesting material.
If it turns out to be rodent damage, you might try some
sort of animal repellant that can be sprayed on the
plants and see if the damage stops.
