Trimming Dusty Miller

I have some dusty miller in my new garden that is growing
wild and sending shoots (branches? stems?) out everywhere.
I read on the net that it should only be pruned in March --
what will happen if I trim it back now?

I've found that it isn't very fussy. I'd say cut it whenever you
