cherry tree trouble

My Starkrimson cherry tree is not having a good summer (not that Baltimore
has had spring or summer yet.) It produced fuzzy little brown things,
rather than the nice cherries it usually bears, and the leaves are
changing color and some are falling! My other cherry tree is nice and
green.

Any ideas what's wrong, and how to fix it?

Could be worse...you could have deer around. Then there would be
nothing but a leafless stick.

I would add some good loam and mulch to the base, and make sure the
soil around the tree is well-drained. My own starkcrimson is in a 1
ft raised bed. Although the flowers are very showy, I only get about
3-4 fruits every year (it's still small, 6 ft tall, but I hope it
increases production over the years).

The fuzzy brown things are possibly blossoms that never set fruit. I
also have problems, and am wondering if a second cross-pollinator will
help (Stark says its not required, but I'm wondering....too many
blossoms and not enough fruit). The first year had twice as many
fruit as any year afterward, and that might've been due to
cross-pollination at the nusery.
