Default flowering plums - when to limb up?

Hi,

We have a row of flowering plums along a six foot fence we planted two years
ago. They are coming along nicely but we would like to limb them up so that
there will be no branches below six feet. My question is when do we start
cutting the limbs? Should we wait till the trees are older or should we
start now?

Thanks
Gary
