Default oriental pea pods/ sugar pods

what is the best way to prevent birds from eating the young seedlings.... at
first i thought it was the squirrels eating them, but i happened to see a
couple of birds walking down the line of seedlings like they were at a
buffet....
would a simple closh be in order ????

Floating row cover cloth should work.
