Organic lawn care and weeds

I'm trying organic gardening and lawncare for the first time.
I'm mowing high, letting the clippings fly, watering infrequently
but deeply, and doing everything else that organic lawn care
specialists recommend, but my lawn is still covered with weeds.
Is there anything I can do short of dousing it with herbicide?

Dig the weeds up by hand.

The procedures you describe have nothing to do with 'organic". Buit that's
OK, organic gardening is the biggest crock of shit ever invented. It's just
one of those "feel good" theories invented by liberals that sounds good but
actually does nothing.

instead of dousing with herbicide? sure, spot treat the weeds with
herbicide. seriously, unless you have a small yard of about 10 square
feet and don't mind hand-pulling the weeds, i'd forget organic for
weed control.

Please provide links to information showing that any garden chemical you can
buy has ever been tested for safety. Don't take more than a day trying to do
this, though. They're impossible to test.

Can you provide an estimate of how bad it is? For instance, for every
10'x10' square, how many weeds and what kind?

read the precautionary statements on the labels?

Your doing a good thing: just remember it takes time. The fuller and thicker
the grass is the fewer weeds will show up in the future. Nothing really
organic is as fast as chemicals. The best thing for you to do is check with
your local ag extension office, they will be most familiar with your local
problems and pests. They might be able to recommend a good slow release
fertilizer and safe pre emergent weed prevented.

Thank the Lord we got the Right answer from an anti-liberal.

I do wonder how God got along before He invented DuPont.

DuPont is a vast improvement over anything God ever invented.

Me? Try this: The accepted method of testing new drugs is to test them on
the target population. That means people. The ONLY way to correctly test
yard chemicals is via the same method. Are you aware of any such tests?
Clue: You and I are the test population, but we didn't volunteer for the
job.

Here's your guideline: Find instances where yard chemicals were tested in
the only acceptable fashion - same methods used for testing new drugs.
Ready? Go find two.

Really? What do you find odd about my statement? And, while we're at it, how
old are you? That's useful information for this discussion.
