Looks like Lamb's Quarters to me, although the leaves are greener than
the ones I have growing.

Have a plant growing which I thought was coriander (first time trying,
but now I think it is just a weed). Found little larvae living inside
the leaves. Are these good guys or bad? Found a lacey-winged thing
on the bottom of a leaf but killed it beyond recognition.

The plant looks like a dock!
Cheryl

Doesn't looks like any of the pictures of Dock that I could find. Wild
or Curly Dock look more like horseradish to my eyes.

This plant has whitish coloration at the stem of new leaves. The
leaves are totally flat. It has one main stem with new stem branching
from the crothces of lower leaves. The flower heads are beginning to
develop at the uppermost stem--which is why I need to know if it is a
weed. It is about one foot tall.

The Weed? Herb?

chenopodium sp, unless you seeded it, it's a "weed". i've seen it in disturbed soil in horse paddocks. (very disturbed soil!)

there are many sp of chenopodium

i tried getting this list of weeds for NE, but the page is down (?)

anyway, you can drag names from the list into google's bar
such as

it is definitely lamb quarters, a.k.a. lamb dock or chenopodium album
(album=white, due to the whitish colour of new leaves). since I see
you have a few, it is edible as a potherb (cook the leaves as you
would chard), very nutritious but not the tastiest green veg. If you
let it go to seed, next year you will have enough lamb quarters to
feed the whole family for the summer.

Thanks to all I yanked it the other day along with the leaf worms in
it. Whatever bug it was it really liked that one plant. All the
surrounding plants were untouched on the entire bakers rack of plants
were untouched.
